Information

Suzen Tattoozen, aka SFT, began her apprenticeship in 1991. Since then, she has been a trailblazer, doing her part to ensure women have a place in the tattoo industry. Her apprenticeship began in Detroit, during a difficult time when industry standards for new artists were low. In the early days, when Michigan had lax licensing standards for tattoo artists, Suzen helped the State of Michigan’s Department of Health adopt strict regulations, thereby creating a completely safe environment for both tattoo artists and clients. In 2012, Suzen moved to Oregon, where she began working in local salons and building a large client base, and in 2013 she started her own tattoo studio called The Whiteaker Tattoo Collective. She is also involved in charitable endeavors, including raising awareness for autism. She participated in Ink for Autism, a fundraising event supporting autism awareness through tattoos.
